"If I Always Fall in Love" is the debut single past American R&B-soul quartet Shai, released in 1992 from their debut album of the aforementioned proper name. It reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1992 and peaked at number one on the Billboard R&B chart.[2] It spent viii weeks at number two on the Hot 100, which at the time was the 2d-most number of weeks that a vocal held the position without topping the nautical chart, backside Greenhorn's "Waiting for a Girl Like Y'all". The song was also their only top-40 hitting in the Britain, peaking at number 36.[3]

"If I E'er Fall in Love" was covered in 1996 as a duet betwixt British boy band East 17 and vocalist-songwriter Gabrielle, completed with a bankroll track. Renamed "If Yous Ever", the cover peaked at number ii on the Britain Singles Chart and also peaked within the tiptop 10 of the charts in Ireland, Latvia, and Sweden. The song received a platinum certification from the British Phonographic Industry in September 2022 for sales and streams exceeding 600,000.

The song was the first unmarried from East 17'southward get-go Greatest Hits compilation, Effectually the Globe Hit Singles: The Journey So Far, and was as well the fourth single from Gabrielle'south second self-titled album. Information technology was the highest-charting single from both same albums.
